The official patch release is still likely a week or so away, but gamers interesting in trying it out ahead of time can do so by following the instructions here. The early version of the official patch adds a few nice features for PC gamers, like an HBAO+ ambient occlusion setting, new weapon debris effects for those with Nvidia cards, and the ability to rotate items the player has picked up with the left and right trigger buttons. The first patch for Fallout 4 managed to make some big improvements on both PC and console, but this week's beta patch actually introduces some new gameplay improvements as well, instead of just swatting down some bugs - although it does a fair amount of that too. It's been several months since Fallout 4 came out, and as much value as the title brings to consumers, there's always room for some post-launch improvement. A beta version of the next Fallout 4 patch allows players to quickly see settler assignments, and fixes plenty of bugs and issues from general gameplay.
